Linking Museum is an initiative seeking to coordinate the development and promotion of museums in Estonia. I was given free scope to propose a logo design. I decided to base the design on a modification of the ancient “Looped Square” or Saint John’s Arms symbol which is now commonly used in Northern Europe to signify heritage sites.
Like a twisted Mobius strip, the symbol is a single continuous curve flexed back into itself suggesting the interconnectivity of heritage and how, with coordination, museums may be promoted in an interrelated way today.
A simple logo text solution allows for similar Estonian and English versions.
