There was a demanding design brief for this logo design.
Each year the Eurocongress of the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA) moves to a different European capital. By tradition, the host country promotes the event with a conference logo combining elements of the FECAVA and some elements with local identity. In addition, the client wanted to include a reference to the event taking place close to mid-summer.
The solution was to bring in the Estonian folk motif of the eight-sided “kaheksakand” star – this was used for the sun and corn-flower elements. Following the angular star, the cat and dog are stylised as if made of origami folded paper.
As usual with my conference logo designs, I include location and date as part of the logo.
