The typography gives a clue to reading this smart combination of Latin abbreviations and YX signifying chromosomes. The oversized “g” is a deliberate mutant gene in the series of letters. “Animal models” was added to indicate the speciality as being transgenic animals designed for research.
The symbol takes its geometry from a DNA spiral or a living cell, with the letter X cut to show also a letter Y transposed on to it.

This two-colour logo is “corporate” in style.
