The design brief for this logo was simple and open: Irish and Estonian colours and a suggestion of some Celtic knot graphic symbol.
Given that Irish and Estonian national flags are tricolours, then a Celtic trinity knot was bound to fit the geometry. Typical limitations of using the Estonian flag colours in a logo or symbol are that the white side needs some edge to define it against a white background. The solution here was to place the Estonian tricolour white element in the center.
The final symbol suggests welcoming continuous and overlapping, interlinkages and merging between the communities of the Irish in Estonia and the Estonians in Ireland.
