When Dimela and Remedium decided to merge there was an immediate need for a new company name and a new logo. Both of these companies were long established wholesalers in the Estonian veterinary medicines, agricultural and pet product markets. The name and logo change needed to be acceptable to customers and staff. I suggested that it would be possible to merge the existing names, and also merge the existing logo designs to create a new graphic visual identity.
The name “Dimedium” was chosen and, by keeping the font of the Dimela logo plus using the red prefix of Remedium logo, a new logo design was created which maintained visual continuity. By combining the logos it was a clear message to customers of “change, yet still familiar”, and it was a clear signal to employees that this is a respectful merger of long-established companies into a new enterprise.
